 CRAWFORD LUNDY

WBO junior welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (27-0, 19 KO) of Omaha, Nebraska will defend against Henry “Hank” Lundy (26-5-1, 13 KO) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania  on Saturday night. The 12 round main event will be aired live on HBO. The site of the bout will be The Theater at the famed Madison Square Garden in New York. The shows promoter will be Top Rank. This will be the second defense of Crawford’s world title that he won almost a year ago.

Crawford’s name seemed to be in serious contention to land a match with mega superstar Manny Pacquiao. This all changed when it was announced officially that Pacquaio would be fighting world champion Timothy Bradley for the third time. There were a various names that were in consideration to fight Crawford once it was official he wouldn’t be fighting Pacquiao in his next fight. There were all kinds of different reasons that prevented Crawford from quickly securing opponents but in the end Lundy stepped up to the challenge.

Lundy’s career has seen him have some very solid wins but setback losses have kept him from landing that big fight. He finally will get  his chance at a world title and will be a determined challenger come Saturday night. The problem is that he is facing a just as determined world champion in Crawford. Lundy has spiced things up for a fight that many were not too interested in seeing. Lundy seems to have fired up Crawford which will shall see on Saturday if that was a good or bad thing.
